My Story
When I was nine years old, I received my first video camera. It was a Samsung camcorder with a tiny flip-out screen—which, at the time, I thought was the coolest thing in the world. By the time that camera was finally retired, it had captured countless homemade movies, music videos, and skits that I created with my siblings and friends. Looking back, that was the day I truly began telling stories. Today, with more than a decade of professional experience behind the camera, I’ve had the privilege of working with companies across Edmonton and beyond, creating promotional films and keepsake content, and capturing weddings, performances, and special events.
While completing my undergraduate degree in English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta, I worked with the Students’ Union producing media to promote student events. During that time, I also developed and trained a team of passionate student media volunteers. That team continues to this day, still capturing campus events and learning professional media skills—something I’m incredibly proud to have helped start. After graduating, I began building a career doing what I love most: telling stories through film.
In 2021, my grandfather passed away. At the time, I had already begun working on a film about his life. I had gathered interviews and photographs—it simply needed to be brought together. Over the following two weeks, I completed the film and shared it with my family as we grieved together. The experience of watching his life and voice live on through that story was indescribable. That moment changed the direction of my work and inspired the creation of my legacy storytelling films, dedicated to preserving the voices, memories, and stories of the people who matter most.
Since then, I’ve continued to look for meaningful ways to combine film with the things I love—one of those being dance. I grew up dancing and still teach today, so being able to bring my camera into the studio and capture movement, artistry, and passion is especially meaningful to me. I feel incredibly fortunate to spend my career creating work that preserves memories, celebrates milestones, and tells the stories that make our lives unique.
I would be honoured to help you create, capture, and share your story—whatever it may be.
